With that in mind, GDex has bought a table worth RM9,000 for the Simply Haute Gala Dinner and two tables for the Secretaries Unplugged Luncheon worth RM2,000 each for the benefit of the company’s secretaries and staff.
“We should recognise secretaries for the work that they do and KL Fashion Week 2004 arrives at just the right time to celebrate Secretaries Week and Labour Day a week from now,”, Chan said at the cheque presentation ceremony at Menara Star on Wednesday.
GDex was represented by Chan, sales support head Stella Khan, corporate development assistant manager Ding Mei Siang and human resource head Zaihanizah Borhan.
Representing The Star at the ceremony was marketing services senior manager Iris Tan.
Chan said GDex supported the event as they had also been a part of it last year and also to show support for the fashion industry.
The Secretaries Unplugged Luncheon and Gala Dinner on April 27 are part of the KL Fashion Week 2004, which will run from today until May 2, is organised by The Star and presented by L’Oreal.
In the goodies department, secretaries attending the event stand a chance to win 25 hampers of Bio-Life products and a holiday package for two to the Berjaya Tioman Beach, Golf & Spa Resort in a special draw at the luncheon.
Bio-Life marketing manager Raymond Chang presented the company’s sponsorship to The Star’s advertisement sales manager Lim Bee Leng at Menara Star on Monday.
Chang said the 25 Bio-Life hampers worth RM200 each contained Bio-Life Evening Primrose Oil, Bio-Life Bio Multis, Bio-Life Lecithin Granules, Bio-Life Tea Tree Oil and Bio-Life Aromatic Essence.
“We believe we have a role to play in the life of secretaries as our products like primrose oil are especially suited for women,” he added.
Meanwhile, Berjaya’s assistant vice-president for sales and marketing, Yvonne Lim Quah Peng said the RM3,000 holiday package prize included a three days/two nights stay in a deluxe chalet with free breakfast and dinner, one session of aroma relaxation massage and a snorkelling trip for two persons.
Return air tickets for two will also be included in the RM3,000 package.
Receiving the mock voucher from Lim was The Star’s advertisement sales manager Roger Lee.
“Secretaries are the backbone of a company and they deserve a stress-free holiday as an appreciation for their hard work.”
“Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort is just the place as it is the island’s only international standard resort that offers exclusive residential style accommodation,” said Lim.
“Apart from that, corporate companies can also organise conventions, meetings or seminars at the resort as we offer six function rooms with convention facilities,” she added.
The resort has 19 local and international hotels and resorts including in Malaysia, London, Seychelles, Mauritius and Sri Lanka.
